PLEASE DONATE GENTLY USED HOUSEHOLD ITEMS AND FURNITURE FOR OUR HOUSEWARMING DRIVE
This coming Friday and Saturday (June 5th and 6th), 1-800-RID-OF-IT Junk Removal will pick up your gently used but no longer wanted furniture, free of charge, and deliver it to local families in need.
We have partnered with the Homestart Foundation, a front line agency that provides furniture to people who have been homeless and are now being re-homed in affordable housing.
VANCOUVER'S BIGGEST HOUSEWARMING!
Our goal is to furnish three to five homes for those most in need in Vancouver during a time when the economy and ongoing lack of affordable housing are translating into heightened demand, especially from families with children. But, to do this, we need your help - we need your unwanted household items and furniture.

We help those that need it the most. The following families will be receiving furniture and household furnishings during our Housewarming event. These families have been referred by Homestart:
- 1 single mother, currently on social assistance with 1 child
- 1 maternal aunt, currently caring for her niece and nephew
- 1 single mother with 3 children
- 1 family with a newborn baby
- 1 family with 3 children
CAN YOU HELP?
Items that are most helpful to these local families in need are:
- kitchen sets - tables and chairs
- sofas / couches
- easy chairs
- dressers
- night stands
- coffee tables
- desks and desk chairs
- TV stand
- bookcases
- microwave ovens
- rugs
- outdoor furniture
All items must be gently used or in excellent quality. If you have any of these items that you are no longer using, it's time to put them to good use - local families could really use them.
